Grizzlies 86, Magic 84 Post-Game Three-Pointer

1. GRIZ WIN! GRIZ WIN! Holy Bleeping Crap, the Grizzlies Won?: Tonight the Grizzlies’ started three rookies for the first time since their inaugural Memphis season. They have the youngest starting lineup and youngest rotation in the league and every hoops expert and pundit in the land has proclaimed with great certainty that the team has exactly zero chance of not being terrible.
But tonight these Baby Grizzlies did something that none of the previous seven Memphis squads were able to do: They won a home opener. There was the 2001 Memphis debut when Jerry Stackhouse dropped in 34 to send the newly relocated squad to defeat. There was the 2003 opener when Mike James hit a game-winning buzzer-beater for Boston. There was the deflating 2004 opener in the brand new FedExForum, when the Grizzlies lost by double digits to a Wizards team missing virtually all of its best players. There was the 2006 triple-overtime heartbreaker to the Knicks.
