Mayo deal in the works

I learned from a Grizzlies source tonight that a deal is in the works that would send the rights to Kevin Love to Minnesota along with Mike Miller, Jason Collins, and Brian Cardinal in return for the rights to O.J. Mayo, Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker, and Greg Buckner

UPDATE: Looks like this deal leaked nationally as I was getting the details. NBA-TV and ESPN.com are also reporting.

UPDATE: Look for Walker to be bought out.

Is this considered a "big time" deal? Like we will be getting something back that's considered big time, or is it a minor deal?

Jaric is the longest contract in the deal. This is true.

I'm going to withhold analysis until all the dust clears and we know the final product. The team may not be done dealing.

I'm not a fan of Arthur, but

I'm not a fan of Arthur, but I love the Mayo deal! Even if we stand pat and don't go after Beasley, we got another potential all-star to solidify the backcourt and established a true core of Gay, Mayo, and Conley. We also got a guy that can sell tickets and jerseys and get some national exposure.

The fact that we still have Lowry, Warrick, Crittenden, and possibly Gasol, gives us room to make some more moves, too. The only potential drawback could be Jaric. How much of a cap hit did we take with him? I heard he has 3 years left and had a bigger contract than Cardinal. Will that be a problem?

I know they wanted to move Cardinal's contract

but one of the commenters at ESPN on this trade said Jaric has a WORSE contract at 3/$21 Million. What did we gain here if that's true, other than Adriana Lima at our games?

Rumors on several boards indicating that the Mayo trade and the Arthur trade are precursors to a Beasley trade.

1. will we play Mayo at PG? what does that mean for Lowry, Conley, and Javaris?
